Advanced Karate Camp in Howrah Led by Hanshi Premjit Sen Sets New Standard for Discipline and Excellence

The Advanced Karate Camp in Howrah, led by Hanshi Premjit Sen, brought together dedicated practitioners from across West Bengal for intensive training in advanced techniques, discipline and mental conditioning. The multi-day programme emphasised practical skill development and the traditional philosophy underpinning modern karate.

Camp leadership and curriculum

Hanshi Premjit Sen, an 8th Dan black belt with more than two decades of experience, directed the camp’s technical and philosophical instruction. Known in the region for his extensive coaching work, Sen has trained and influenced a large number of students across the state, helping to build a robust grassroots karate ecosystem in West Bengal.

Under Sen’s mentorship, participants practised advanced kata, kumite drills, conditioning routines and situational self-defence. Sessions combined technique refinement with training on focus, resilience and the ethical principles of martial arts, reflecting Sen’s emphasis on consistency and disciplined practice as the foundation of competitive success.

Awards and recognition

During the camp, Shihan Subrata Biswas was conferred the Renshi title in recognition of his sustained leadership and contribution to karate development. The honour, presented by Hanshi Premjit Sen, acknowledged Biswas’s role in organising the camp and promoting high training standards across affiliated dojos.

Impact and participant response

Attendees reported marked improvements in technique and mindset, citing the camp’s rigorous structure and hands-on coaching as key benefits. Instructors and participants highlighted the event’s role in strengthening the state’s competitive and instructional standards, and in fostering a community committed to disciplined training.

Organisers described the Howrah camp as part of a broader effort to raise the calibre of martial arts coaching in the region. For aspiring karatekas, the core message delivered by Hanshi Premjit Sen was clear: sustained practice, discipline and sacrifice are essential to long-term improvement and competitive achievement.
