AstroTalk’s e-commerce vertical reported ₹140 crore in revenue for 2025, just months after its November 2024 launch, and has reached an annualised run rate of about ₹200 crore, signalling rapid scaling in the spiritual and religious products market.
Early momentum and strategic entry into spiritual commerce
AstroTalk expanded from online astrology consultations into e-commerce to meet demand identified during consultations. Astrologers frequently recommended items such as gemstones, rudraksha beads, yantras, puja kits, bracelets and idols, creating a natural product market extension tied to advisory services.
The e-commerce effort began as a small internal experiment with an initial investment of ₹30 lakh. Early traction prompted the company to invest an additional ₹40 crore to strengthen supply chains, inventory systems, technology and marketing, accelerating the vertical’s growth.
In 2025 alone, the platform processed more than 1.6 million orders, reflecting strong consumer adoption and operational throughput across categories.
Product expansion, repeat purchases and geographic reach
AstroTalk currently lists over 300 spiritual products and plans to add 500+ more by FY27, prioritising categories that drive repeat purchases. The platform reports a repeat purchase rate of roughly 24%, an important indicator of consumer trust in product authenticity and quality in a segment long dominated by unorganised sellers.
Demand is rising in Tier II and Tier III cities, which the company expects to contribute nearly half of future sales as spiritual shopping increasingly shifts online across Bharat.
Targets and long-term strategy
Building on early success, AstroTalk has set an ambitious target of ₹400–500 crore annualised run rate for its e-commerce vertical by FY27. Growth drivers include category expansion, wider geographic penetration, improved logistics and deeper integration with its consultation platform.
The firm’s longer-term aim is to establish a standardised, trusted destination for spiritual shopping—anchored by astrologer-backed recommendations, transparent sourcing and quality assurance—to organise a fragmented market.
Core consultation business and ecosystem synergies
AstroTalk’s core astrology consultation business continues to scale. For the financial year ending March 2025, the company reported overall revenue of ₹1,176 crore, up substantially year-on-year, driven by higher user engagement and monetisation.
Integration of personalised consultations with verified product commerce has created end-to-end customer journeys, enabling AstroTalk to unlock new revenue streams while enhancing perceived value through convenience and credibility.
Implications for India’s spiritual commerce market
AstroTalk’s rapid e-commerce growth highlights a structural shift in India’s spiritual economy, where trust, technology and standardisation are becoming differentiators. By combining platform reach with verified recommendations and organised supply chains, the company aims to set benchmarks for quality and transparency in a largely informal sector.
