Bengaluru Oncology Startup 4baseCare Raises ₹90 Crore to Expand AI-Driven Precision Cancer Care in India and Global Markets

4baseCare, a Bengaluru-based precision oncology startup, has raised ₹90 crore in the first close of its Series B round, led by investors Ashish Kacholia and Lashit Sanghvi, with continued support from existing backer Yali Capital. The capital will accelerate the company’s efforts to scale genomics-driven cancer diagnostics and AI-enabled clinical decision support across India and international markets.

Funding to Drive Market Expansion and Hospital Integration

The fresh funds will be used primarily to expand 4baseCare’s hospital-linked genomics testing infrastructure across India and targeted international markets, including the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Latin America and Central Asia. These regions present growing demand for precision oncology but have limited access to advanced diagnostics and population-specific genomic data.

Rather than positioning itself as a standalone testing laboratory, 4baseCare focuses on long-term partnerships with hospitals and oncology teams. By embedding its genomics and data solutions directly into clinical workflows, the company aims to provide oncologists with integrated diagnostic insights alongside routine clinical information, improving the quality and timeliness of treatment decisions.

Building Population-Relevant Clinico-Genomic Datasets

Founded in 2018 by Hitesh Goswami and Kshitij Rishi, 4baseCare specialises in creating clinico-genomic datasets tailored to non-Western populations. Most publicly available genomic repositories are skewed towards Western cohorts, which can limit the accuracy and applicability of precision oncology for patients in Asia, Africa and Latin America. 4baseCare’s approach seeks to close this gap by combining genetic sequencing with detailed clinical data to inform more relevant diagnostics and treatment recommendations.

Scaling the AI-Driven Platform OncoTwin Insights

A cornerstone of 4baseCare’s offering is OncoTwin Insights, an AI-powered platform that integrates complex genomic and clinical data to generate actionable treatment recommendations. The platform helps clinicians identify targeted therapies, match patients to relevant clinical trials and design personalised treatment pathways based on individual tumour profiles.

With the Series B infusion, the company plans to strengthen OncoTwin’s AI capabilities, shorten turnaround times for results and broaden clinical use cases across multiple cancer types. The platform has already attracted international attention for its innovation and clinical utility.

Investor Confidence and Strategic Impact

The participation of high-profile investors such as Ashish Kacholia and Lashit Sanghvi, together with continued support from Yali Capital, signals strong market confidence in 4baseCare’s business model and technology. The company says the funding will also help attract specialised talent, accelerate product development and deepen collaborations with healthcare institutions and research organisations worldwide.

Context: Why Population-Specific Genomics Matters

Precision oncology depends on genomic references that reflect the genetic diversity of patient populations. Therapeutic responses and biomarker prevalence can vary significantly across ethnic groups. By building regionally relevant datasets and integrating them into clinical workflows, startups like 4baseCare aim to make targeted cancer therapies more effective and equitable in emerging markets.

As cancer remains a leading public health challenge in India, investments that combine genomics, AI and clinical intelligence are viewed as critical to improving early detection, diagnostic accuracy and personalised treatment—especially where conventional infrastructure and data are limited.
