Gnani.ai Raises $10 Million to Develop Sovereign AI Voice Agents and Expand Enterprise AI Globally

Bengaluru-based generative AI startup Gnani.ai has raised $10 million (about ₹94 crore) in a Series B round led by Aavishkaar Capital, with participation from existing investor Info Edge Ventures. The capital will be used to expand into new sectors and international markets, boost R&D, and build talent to accelerate innovation in voice AI.

Strategic push into sovereign AI and voice-first models

Founded in 2016 by Ganesh Gopalan and Ananth Nagaraj, Gnani.ai develops a full-stack, voice-first generative AI ecosystem for enterprise applications. The company unveiled its voice-first model, Inya, at the India Impact AI Summit 2026 as part of its push into the sovereign AI space.

Sovereign AI refers to systems developed domestically that are culturally aligned and comply with national data regulations. Gnani.ai’s strategy is to build voice agents capable of understanding multiple Indian languages and delivering context-aware, conversational interactions for businesses, addressing both regulatory and localisation needs.

Adoption across industries and product footprint

Gnani.ai’s solutions are deployed across banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI), telecom, e-commerce, healthcare and consumer internet companies. Its platform supports voice automation, agent-assist tools and analytics-driven customer engagement, enabling enterprises to automate interactions and improve customer experience.

The company says it serves over 200 enterprise clients and has migrated more than 150 customers onto its Inya platform, reflecting growing enterprise adoption of conversational AI for customer support and process automation.

Market context and investor confidence

India’s large, multilingual user base and accelerating digitisation have made voice AI an important growth area. Startups focused on locally relevant models and compliance-driven architectures are attracting investor interest as businesses seek scalable conversational solutions.

This funding round signals rising investor confidence in India’s AI innovation landscape—particularly in conversational and sovereign AI. As competition increases, Gnani.ai’s emphasis on enterprise-grade, voice-first technology aims to position the company for growth domestically and in global markets.
