Moe Puppy Raises Rs 2 Crore to Expand Pet Grooming and Wellness Product Range

Moe Puppy, a Gurugram-based direct-to-consumer pet care startup, has raised Rs 2 crore in a pre-seed round led by PedalStart, with participation from Zindagi Live Angel Fund and several angel investors. The capital injection underscores growing investor interest in India’s expanding pet care market and will support the company’s early growth plans.

First External Funding for a Bootstrapped Venture

Founded in 2023 and until now bootstrapped, Moe Puppy is using this pre-seed infusion as its maiden external financing. The funds are earmarked to accelerate marketing, enhance product development, and strengthen operational capacity as the brand moves from a startup phase to broader market scale-up.

Planned Uses of Capital

The company intends to allocate the capital across three core areas: brand and customer acquisition, research and development, and supply-chain optimisation. Investment in R&D will target expansion of the product portfolio and improvement of formulations, while supply-chain enhancements aim to reduce lead times and improve delivery efficiency. Moe Puppy also plans to recruit across functions to support these initiatives.

Product Positioning and Target Market

Moe Puppy specialises in grooming and wellness products for companion animals, including dry shampoos, anti-tick sprays and hygiene essentials. The brand emphasises clean-label, nature-based ingredients and positions itself as a homegrown alternative to imported pet-care lines — a value proposition aimed at India’s growing cohort of quality-conscious pet owners.

Early Traction and Distribution Strategy

Despite its recent founding, Moe Puppy reports serving over 1 lakh customers, a repeat purchase rate of about 30 percent and nearly 10x year-on-year growth. The company follows an omnichannel distribution model, selling through its own platform as well as leading e-commerce and quick-commerce channels to broaden reach and convenience for consumers.

Context: India’s Pet Care Opportunity

India’s pet care sector has been expanding rapidly, driven by rising pet adoption, increased spending on pet health and hygiene, and greater awareness of specialised products. Investors have been allocating capital to consumer-focused pet-care startups that can combine trusted formulations with scalable distribution — trends that underpin Moe Puppy’s latest funding round and growth strategy.
