Shark Tank India Spotlight Fuels Culture Circle’s Nearly 10x Revenue Surge in FY25

Luxury resale marketplace Culture Circle reported a nearly tenfold increase in revenue in FY25, driven by strong consumer demand for verified sneakers and streetwear. The early-stage startup converted visibility and trust into rapid top-line growth during its first full year of operations.

Robust revenue growth in first full year

Culture Circle posted operating revenue of ₹3.4 crore in FY25, up from about ₹31 lakh in the prior year. Including other income, total revenue was close to ₹3.8 crore, underscoring rapid scaling since the platform launched in early 2024.

The jump is notable given the firm was incorporated only months before commencing operations, indicating an early product–market fit for verified luxury and hype-fashion resales among Indian consumers.

Higher costs as the company expands

Alongside revenue growth, total expenditure climbed to just over ₹7 crore in FY25, against under ₹50 lakh a year earlier. The company reported a net loss of about ₹3.3 crore, reflecting aggressive investment in people, technology and brand building common to growth-stage startups.

Employee-related costs increased as Culture Circle scaled teams for sourcing, authentication, technology and customer experience. Marketing and customer-acquisition spend also rose as the startup sought to build awareness and capture market share in a competitive e-commerce segment.

Inventory-free marketplace with focus on authenticity

Founded by Devansh Jain Nawal and Ackshay Jain, Culture Circle operates an inventory-free marketplace that connects buyers with verified sellers of premium fashion. The platform targets sneaker and streetwear collectors and lists products from brands such as Nike, Yeezy, Dior, Supreme and Louis Vuitton.

By not holding inventory, the company can scale listings quickly and limit operational constraints. The platform now hosts thousands of sellers and millions of listings, positioning itself among the faster-growing luxury resale destinations in India.

Authentication, transparent pricing and community trust form the core value proposition in a market where counterfeit concerns are widespread.

Media exposure accelerates growth

An appearance on Shark Tank India helped amplify Culture Circle’s brand visibility. The founders’ pitch highlighted rising youth interest in global premium fashion and resale culture, resulting in increased investor curiosity, media coverage and consumer traction.

Follow-up media attention and word-of-mouth contributed to higher platform activity and sales volumes in the months after the broadcast.

Focus on scale before profitability

Going forward, Culture Circle plans to prioritise scaling, technology upgrades and deeper market penetration to capitalise on India’s growing luxury resale and sneaker culture. Rising disposable incomes and shifting consumer preferences present a favourable backdrop for expansion.

While the company remains loss-making in this growth phase, the strong revenue trajectory and early market traction suggest it is establishing a foundation that could support long-term positioning within India’s evolving luxury e‑commerce ecosystem.
