Urban Company’s InstaHelp Tops 1 Million Monthly Bookings, Highlighting Rapid Growth of Instant Home Services in India

Urban Company’s quick-service arm, InstaHelp, recorded over one million bookings in March 2026, achieving the milestone before month-end and underlining strong urban demand for instant home services across India.

Rapid adoption of on-demand home services

Launched as a near-instant housekeeping offering, InstaHelp delivers services such as cleaning, dishwashing, laundry and basic cooking with minimal lead time. The service is built for immediate fulfilment rather than advance scheduling, often dispatching trained professionals within minutes of a booking.

After debuting in Mumbai in 2025, InstaHelp expanded quickly to Bengaluru, Delhi NCR, Hyderabad and Pune. Its hyperlocal model, standardised service protocols and app-based booking flow have been central to customer acquisition and retention across these markets.

Evidence of product-market fit

The platform scaled from tens of thousands of daily bookings to more than a million monthly bookings in a short period, outpacing the early growth rate of Urban Company’s core offerings. This acceleration suggests the service has moved beyond early adopters into mainstream usage, driven by high-frequency demand and strong repeat rates.

Lifestyle shifts underpinning demand

Changing urban lifestyles — busier schedules, smaller nuclear households and rising preference for convenience — are boosting demand for flexible, app-led home services. Consumers are increasingly valuing trained professionals, transparent pricing and fast fulfilment over traditional, informal domestic-help arrangements.

Operational challenges and outlook

Despite the momentum, InstaHelp remains in an investment-led phase. Key challenges include scaling a reliable supply of vetted service professionals, preserving consistent service quality across geographies and moving the business toward sustainable profitability.

Still, with significant consumer traction and expanding city-level coverage, InstaHelp is positioned to create a distinct quick home-services category in India, following the pattern observed in food delivery and quick-commerce segments.
